A conversation with citygoers reveals the significance of climate change

Is Earth Day still valued by Boston residents? At Boston Common on the 22nd day of April, many said the day held little value for them. However, this does not mean the health of the Earth has no significance in their lives.
“Kids learn how to care about … how to care for the environment, largely by the way they’re
cared for by their grownups,” said Yamasaki. “A lot of this is about collective care … Community.”

Miho eyed the main stage, where Michiko Kurata was putting on a traditional flute and dance performance. “We’ve barely left the booth, so I’ve missed everything outside of my booth … but being able to meet new people and meet my former students and some people, you know, visited me and stopped by – that’s the best thing about matsuri.”
